About Us

Encompass Event Planners is a professionally owned and operated event planning business. Our experienced team will work with you to facilitate your entire event needs. Whether it's handling a golf tournament, conference, business meeting, office party, high school prom, or a one-day tour around town, we will make your event a memorable one. In addition to event planning, we also provide speakers that are content specialists in the educational field. Our experienced agents are the best at creatively pairing the right speakers with the right program for your educational needs. We work directly with our clients to conceptualize, plan and execute events that will bring your school district much success.

Kathy Belanger / Co-Founder

With over 42 years of experience, Kathy was the director of The California Reading since 1982.  In 2023, she officially retired from her duties.


Her passion for working with classroom educators, landed her a job as the lead event planner with The SIOP Institute.  


In 2005, Kathy and Michelle founded Encompass Event Planners which has been extremely successful over the last 20 years.


Kathy lives in San Clemente with her husband, Bruce, they just celebrated their 57th year wedding anniversary. 

Michelle Belanger / Co-Founder

From a very young age Michelle had a passion for party planning.  In 1999, she became a team member at The California Reading Association where she was in charge of exhibits, speakers, and membership.  


In 2005, she branched off with Kathy and started the successful Encompass Event Planners which specializes in working with educational speakers across the United States.  


Michelle lives in San Clemente with her husband, Donald.  She recently became an empty nesters with both her children off to college in the South.

Lindsey Moore - Project Manager

Lindsey Moore began working part-time for Encompass Event Planners in the summer of 2011.  With her strong work ethic and organizational skills she was offered a full time role in 2018 as a Project Manager for various events, including educational meetings, golf tournaments, and fund-raisers.


She enjoys spending time with her dog, Bandit, and hanging with her family in her free time.  Currently Lindsey lives in Temecula.


Kelly Whidden - Intern / Assistant Project Manager

Hi, I’m Kelly Whidden! I’m passionate about bringing people together and creating meaningful connections, whether through my work or personal endeavors. I’ve gained diverse experiences over the years—from working as a Registered Behavior Technician and helping families navigate the admissions process as an University of Utah Admissions Assistant.


Leadership and community have always been central to my life. I am an active member of Alpha Phi, where I lead initiatives on the Potential New Member and Wellness Committees and supported philanthropy for heart health. My high school experience as Spirit Commissioner also taught me how to foster enthusiasm and teamwork.


I credit my grit and determination to my parents, who worked hard to create opportunities for our family, and I strive to carry those values into everything I do. Outside of work, you’ll find me traveling, in hot yoga, or reading!
